"WHAT ARE BLOGGERS TALKING ABOUT?"

Do you ever wonder how issues like polio, peace, or literacy are being addressed on blogs? You can track them through Blog Pulse, a site that enables its users to search key trends or even follow a conversation taking place online right now. Blogs enable users to comment on stories and also provide relevant news and information - including what Rotary is currently doing to address specific issues around the world.

 The Object of Rotary

The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

  • FIRST. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
  • SECOND. High ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations, and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
  • THIRD. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life;
  • FOURTH. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

MAY 13TH LUNCHEON TAKS PLACE AT CONROE FAMILY YMCA

Rotarians got a close look at one of their funded literacy programs, TAKS Force at the Conroe Family YMCA, where their weekly luncheon was held May 13th. The program is designed to motivate elementary school students to do well on the TAKS test by providing an opportunity to spend a day at the Y's Camp Owen. On this particular day students from Austin Elementary were experiencing the camp's many outdoor activities. Spectrum and Borden’s provided lunch.
