This year's major fund-raising activity was the FIRST Annual Fish Fry. This event is an honored tradition in the Conroe community. The Rotary Club of Conroe netted just over $20,000. These proceeds go toward the care, mentoring, and education of youth in our community.
As in the past, Rotarians sold raffle and supper tickets. Each raffle ticket sold for $100 and included two supper tickets.Individual Fish Fry tickets were $10 for adults and Free for children under 10 years of age. The Grand Prize winner, Brandon Creighton, received a $5,000 Cruise of a Life Time, with the winner picking the destination and dates of cruise. Second Prize is a $3,000 gift card, Third and Fourth Prizes are $1,000 gift cards.
This is a fun family event foe everyone, all designed to help the Rotary Club of Conroe support needy youth in the community. All revenue from the event go to help support the (1) Youth Emergency Dental Care, (2) Runyan Elementary Mentoring & Literacy Program, (3) "I Like Me" books for Conroe elementary school students and (4) College Scholarships. Whether individuals are interested in participating in the raffle drawing and Fish Fry Supper, everyone is encouraged to donate toward making a brighter future for the youth served by these Rotary programs.
