RAFFLE & PANCAKE SUPPER

This Year's Annual Pancake Supper/Raffle will be 6:00 p.m.,

October 28, 2008 at the First Baptist Church.

Jo Briley and Rigby Owen, Sr. (Fall, 2003)

One of the major fund raising activities for the Rotary Club of Conroe is the Annual Reverse Raffle/Pancake Supper.  This event is more correctly referred to as the Rigby Owen, Sr. Memorial Raffle/Pancake Supper, which was started by Rigby over 50 years ago.  Today this event is an honored tradition in the Conroe community.

As in the past, Rotarians will be selling raffle and supper tickets.  A raffle ticket is $100 and includes two supper tickets.  Supper tickets are $10 for adults and Free for children under 10 years of age.  The Grand Prize winner will receive the keys to a 2009 Hyundia automile from Wiesner in Conroe.  Additionally the raffle ticket will give people to win prizes of a value of $100 or more.

The raffle drawing and pancake supper will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., October 28th at the First Baptist Church.  Drawings will start taking place around 7:00 p.m.

This is a fun family event foe everyone, all designed to help the Rotary Club of Conroe support needy youth in the community.  All revenue from the event go to help support the (1) Youth Emergency Dental Care, (2) Runyan Elementary Mentoring & Literacy Program, (3) "I Like Me" books for Conroe elementary school students and (4) College Scholarships.  Whether individuals are interested in participating in the raffle or pancake supper, everyone is encouraged to donate whatever they can afford toward making a brighter future for the youth served by these Rotary programs.
